Networks and availability

Know whether you are using local, testnet or live-network funds.

Reviewed .

The chains#

RINO is built for Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum Nitro chain. The interface knows three networks and treats each one the same way: an address that is not deployed on a given chain is absent rather than copied across from another one.

NetworkChain idSettlement assetBlock explorer
Robinhood Chain4663USDG, 6 decimalsBlockscout, robinhoodchain.blockscout.com
Robinhood Chain Testnet46630none — USDG is not deployed thereexplorer.testnet.chain.robinhood.com
Local development node31337a stand-in USDG deployed per runnone

The public RPC endpoints are rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com and rpc.testnet.chain.robinhood.com. The interface sends these fields to your wallet when it offers to add the network, so you should never need to type them. See Wrong network.

USDG on mainnet is the only settlement asset the product will ever accept; its address is listed under Reviewed public contract addresses. The testnet has no USDG. The repository carries a test collateral token and a faucet contract for the testnet that dispenses 1,000 test USDG and 0.005 test ETH per call with an eight-hour cooldown, and refuses to exist on chain 4663; the faucet's address was not configured at the time of review, and the faucet page says so rather than offering a dead button.

Build stages#

Which chain a build talks to, and whether the money is real, is fixed when the interface is built. It cannot be changed at runtime by a user, a script, or anything served over the network.

StageWalletChainMoneyWhat you see
DemofabricatednonenoneA persistent banner: the wallet, balances and every confirmation are fabricated. Nothing touches a chain.
Localreal31337testA banner naming the local node. Contracts are really deployed and every call really executes, on a chain that is thrown away when the node stops.
Testnetreal46630testA banner: transactions are real and permanent, and testnet USDG has no value and cannot be redeemed.
Stagingreal4663realA banner: every transaction spends real USDG, and the build is not announced.
Productionreal4663realNo banner.

The default is Demo. A build that forgets to set its stage shows a loud demo banner and touches nothing, which is the safe way to fail. A stage name that is not one of the five fails the build rather than being guessed at.

What a button does#

Separately from the stage, every control that would move money asks which of three modes it is in:

  • Live — the contracts are deployed on this chain and your wallet signs.
  • Preview — the contracts are not deployed on this chain. The button shows the exact call it would make and states plainly that nothing was sent. It never shows a success state.
  • Demo — the demo stage. The button simulates success so a flow can be walked end to end, and every acting surface says so.

Preview is decided by whether the market factory is deployed on the build's chain. On both public networks that is currently false, so a public build of the interface is in preview or demo mode everywhere.

Sample data#

Some screens still contain sample rows and worked examples. The app status strip distinguishes the selected stage from data provenance and warns that some screens include sample data even when market reads are connected. Check each screen’s source and availability labels; a connected wallet does not make every displayed figure live.
