Attestation and committee authority

Attestation quorum and committee authority, including their distinct trust assumptions and enforced deadlines.

Reviewed .

Attested reports#

The reporter accepts at least three signatures from distinct registered signers, supplied in sorted signer order. The signer set can hold three to sixteen addresses. The attestation binds the condition, round, result, evidence, observation time and deadline.

Evidence must already be linked to the condition and committed for at least one hour. The observation time must be nonzero, no later than the current timestamp and no later than the evidence fetch time. The report cannot be reused after resolution.

Normal signer changes have a seven-day delay. Emergency removal needs four valid signer signatures. Independence is an operational requirement, not something a signature proves.

This lane does not implement the optimistic reporter's public challenge rounds. A valid attestation writes the outcome through the router. Review the signer authority before trading.

Committee reports and disputes#

Only the configured committee address can submit a committee result through the court. It also rules on escalated optimistic disputes within the 48-hour court window. Missing that dispute window allows the optimistic timeout path; the committee cannot race a late ruling against it.

If the committee is a Safe or another multisig, its owners and threshold may change even though the court's committee address is immutable. The product must disclose and monitor that authority.

Payout consequences#

A valid result determines who can claim. These reporters do not directly withdraw escrow, but their outcome decisions have financial consequences. Refunds depend on the relevant void path; a disagreement alone does not guarantee a refund. See Optimistic challenges.
