P&L scope

What the profile performance figure includes and what it leaves out.

Reviewed .

What it is#

The profile page shows one performance figure, labelled Realized pool P/L. It is a cash accounting:

  • a winning market is recognised when you claim, as the amount paid to you less the principal you had in the market — so the fee is already out of it;
  • a fully losing position is recognised at settlement, as the loss of the whole principal, whether or not you ever submit a transaction for it;
  • a market is recognised once. A claim and a refund from the same market are never counted twice;
  • a par exit reduces the principal basis before any recognition.

The figure is calculated from recorded cash movements. It is not a live valuation of your open positions.

What it is not#

The caption under the chart lists the exclusions, and they are real:

  • open positions — nothing is marked to a pool share, because a pool share is not a price;
  • unclaimed winning positions — until you claim, nothing has been realised, and the figure does not pretend otherwise;
  • combos — ticket contributions and payouts are outside this pool ledger;
  • order-book trades — book fills, complete-set mints and redemptions are outside this figure;
  • gas — paid to the chain, not tracked here;
  • RINO locks, unlocks and burn penalties — a different asset in a different contract;
  • deposits and withdrawals — moving money is not making or losing it.

It is also not settlement-based accrual P/L. A market that settled in your favour a week ago and that you have not claimed shows no profit yet. The product distinguishes these policies deliberately and versions them; a future change to the policy would rebuild all history rather than mixing two definitions in one chart.

Time ranges#

24H, 1W, 1M, 1Y, YTD and ALL select the recognition events inside the period. The chart starts at zero at the beginning of the period, so a range shows what was realised within it, not a running total from your first trade.

When it is unavailable#

The figure requires a complete, deployment-matched history. If the history service is not configured, is still catching up, or reports a different chain or contract than the one the build uses, the profile says "Complete history is unavailable. P/L is not estimated." and draws nothing. A partial number would be a wrong number. See Missing history.
